Elizabeth Alyse Cuthbert AC, MBE, was an Australian athlete and a four-time Olympic champion. She was nicknamed Australia’s “Golden Girl”. During her career, she set world records for 60 metres, 100 yards, 200 metres, 220 yards and 440 yards.
These are unused running shoes that were signed by Betty in her later years. Based on the years we were going to charity auctions, they would have been signed in 2000 – 2001. Both shoes are signed and they come in an ASICS carboard box and a cloth shoe bag is included. The shoes are size 9.
This item was purchased at a charity auction held in Canberra, for the Marlene Harrison-Gray Memorial Trust (invoiced on 1 September 2001). Over the years, we supported many charities by attending fund raisers and purchasing memorabilia.
